Written for my parents, Nick and Helen Stephens.It would also suite mezzo-soprano, contralto and baritone voices: a version with the voice part in the treble clef is also available. Premiered by baritone Martin Johnson, flautist Caroline Ardron and pianist David Price at Pigotts Music Camp, August 2014. Sheet music available to buy here programme note I wrote this as a Christmas present for my parents. My Mum had played the flute when I was growing up, and has recently and enthusiastically taken it up again. My Dad has rediscovered his singing voice in the past few years, and has joined many choirs around where they live in Cornwall. This piece is a celebration of their rediscovery of their musical selves. | |
